Sea Tags, product launched in 2016 at the METS TRADE, it is one of the most innovator alarm system in case of Manoverboard” and it’s the first in the world which is compatible with smartphones.
This device allows transmitting constantly a signal that is monitored by one or several smartphones throw the free app ‘Sea-Tags’, available for download at Apple Store and Google Play.
Throw Bluetooth technology, if a bracelet is immerse in the water or really far from the vessel, the signal is interrupted and the phone(s) activates an alarm, recording the GPS position at the accident moment. The system was carefully developed to avoid failures and to be monitored by several phones at the same time, ensuring the entire crew safety.
Specially developed for leisure vessels, Sea Tags can be used on boats up to 15 m in length, due to Bluetooth coverage limitations, to prevent false alarms. This is a system that can not only save the life of entire crew, as your own family.
The device acts throw two options:
Crew Mode: This functionality was specially developed for high seas situations, with several people on board. It doesn’t need GSM network and allows to monitor all the crew throw Bluetooth technology. In case of ‘Manoverboard’, the app issues an alert, advising the shipwreck last position at the moment when he fall into the water, with exactly GPS coordinates.
Solo Mode: Needing GSM network coverage, this functionality was developed for people who sails alone in the coast zone area (until 3 miles from coast, depending of the zone). In this functionality, in case of ‘Manoverboard’ the app allows to activate an alarm for a contact number in land. The person in land receives an SMS alert with the GPS coordinates of the local where was the accident, making it easier to rescue the person by emergency or rescue authorities. |
